Sprouts and Microgreens are very nutrient dense, and supply the highest amounts of vitamins and minerals of any food per calorie. They are a fresh, inexpensive way for consumers to grow their own healthy, nutrient rich food all year long. Sprouting at home takes only a few seconds a day and can produce a good part of your daily requirements of the nutrients you need from fresh produce
Sprouts are grown hydroponically and without medium, and are keep moist and at room temperature until they germinate. The entire sprout is consumed, including the root.
Microgreens are grown in a medium (soil or otherwise). They are harvested after they have established roots and opened their cotyledons. Only the stems and leaves are consumed; they are harvested above their roots.
